MPEGs naturally LOUD? |
Hi
Great work here (from participants and admins)!
I'm on a Mac, converting my MooV files to MPEG1 (hopefully for eventual uploading here...) but after using Movie2MPEG to create the MPEG, the resulting file plays LOUD (d'loaded clips from here are LOUD when I play them back too)...is this a correctable issue or just a quirk of MPEGs? Or does everyone just automatically turn the sound way down when they play an MPEG?
I'll try resaving the file etc, but if anyone has had similar experience, I'd be interested to hear about it.
ciao (thanks too!)

Re: MPEGs naturally LOUD? |
Hey there,
This is a difficult question, but if your movies are turning out at the same loudness as the ones already on the Archive, then you're probably OK. Perhaps, if you're comparing with listening to audio, your audio program changes the volume automatically when it loads up?
Anyhow, whatever reason for the discrepancy, I think you should be OK to upload at the movie volume level you're currently at.
Thanks,
s!
